About Give woman a chance

The project is designed in order to help women over 40 years of age to find a job. Since women of this group are traditionally considered as a group with low employability, local community recognized the danger of social exclusion and marginalization of this target group and decided to connect the needs and ambitions of women from that target group with the needs of local community and economy of the region.

Results achieved

Through an innovative approach to the problem of long-term unemployed women such as creating a profile of their skills and competence and development of new skills, the project enabled an implementation of their own entrepreneurial ideas.

The project will result in further development of women’s entrepreneurship and encouraging self-employment in Pleternica area through organizing a "women's network".

Women who went through the empowerment and education process themselves will motivate the rest of the target group by sharing their knowledge and experiences but most of all, by spreading positive experience of self-employment and entrepreneurship.

The aim of the set up capacities is to improve employment of women and reduce gender disparities in unemployment in this area. The aim of new entrepreneurial ventures is to improve the standard of living of the entire community.

Conclusion

Regardless of the prejudices that are typical for such rural areas, this project proved that women can be generators of positive movements in their communities and serve as an example to all of us. The project demonstrated to beneficiaries how self-employment and entrepreneurship can be a way out of unemployment and exclusion and encouraged them to become more independent, but most of all, to become an example to people around them.
